What insurance do you need?
When operating a bird watching there are a number of things to think about consider in regards to your insurance cover. Our tailored policies are built around three main benefits and areas of cover.
Should a third-party or a member of your club suffer an injury and lay blame with you, they could opt to sue the club. Having Public Liability cover in place, you would be protected against the costs of defending the club in court, solicitors fees and if you are found negligent, any settlement of the claim.
Third-party property damage is also included in this benefit, covering you against being sued for damage to a member of the public’s property.
It is a legal requirement that you take out Employers’ Liability if you employ any staff, regardless on whether they are paid or voluntary. With it in place, you will be covered should a member of staff injure themselves or incur damage to their property as a result of the club’s actions. As with Public Liability, if the person decided to sue the club, the defence and settlement costs will be taken care of.
You probably don’t use a large amount of specialist equipment whilst birdwatching, but if you’d like to cover the items you do use against damage, loss and theft, we can add that to your policy.
We offer multiple payment options at Protectivity, so paying for your insurance policy couldn’t be easier.
