Comprehensive liability cover for pottery clubs

When running any type of club, even a pottery club, it is important to cover yourself for any accidents that might occur. This could be injuries caused to club members or other third parties, or damage caused to the property of a member of the public.

Our pottery club insurance ensures that if either of those situations occur, the costs of defending the club, including solicitors fees, are taken care of. If you are found to be negligent, we’ll also handle the settlement of the claim.

What insurance do you need?

There are three main areas of cover to consider when running a pottery club.

Public Liability

Public Liability covers the club if a third party, whether its a member of the club or the public, hurt themselves and blamed the club for the injuries caused. If the club is deemed to have been negligent, it could result in having to pay out a court settlement. With your pottery club insurance in place, not only is the settlement covered, but also the costs associated with defending the club including solicitors fees.

You are also covered if third party property damage is blamed on the club. As with injuries, defence costs and court settlements are taken care of by your policy.

Employers’ Liability

Employers’ Liability is a legal requirement if you employ any members of staff. Having it in place will cover you if a member of staff, regardless of whether they are paid or voluntary, injured themselves or suffers property damage as a result of the club’s actions. If they choose to sue the club, as with Public Liability cover, the defence and any settlement costs will be taken care of.

Equipment Cover

You may wish to add equipment cover to your insurance policy. This will ensure that any items that you specifically use to run your pottery club are covered for damage and theft. Should the worst happen, we’ll cover the costs of repairing or replacing your equipment.
