Specialist Insurance for Auctions

When running an auction, it is likely that you are going to be in possession of a number of high-value items that belong to a third-party, so having cover for any accidental damage that is caused is important.

Our Auction Insurance policy can provide Public Liability protection that ensures that if you are sued for damage that is caused to a third-parties property, the legal costs and settlement are handled by us.

As well as liability cover, we can include a number of other benefits on your policy including Equipment Cover for the items you own and Employers’ Liability which protects the event if a staff member is injured.

If you have any question about our Auction Insurance, we have a UK Sales team available to answer them. They are available Mon to Fri, 9am to 5:30pm.

What Insurance Do Auctions Need?

The main protection anyone running an auction needs is Public Liability, but there a number of possible benefits to consider.

Public Liability

If an auction organiser or a member of staff were to damage the property owned by a third-party they could be pursued for damages. Having Public Liability in place means that if that was the case, the costs associated with defending the auction and any subsequent settlement is handled by your insurance policy.

Employers' Liability

As we as the auctioneer it is likely that auctions will employ members of staff, both paid and voluntary. In this case, having Employers’ Liability is a necessity, providing you with protection should a staff member be injured and claim negligence on your part.

Equipment Cover

We can add cover to any Auction Insurance policy to protect the equipment owned by the organisers against loss, damage and theft. We can provide up to £50,000 worth of cover in our policy, with a limit of £2,500 on each individual item. Protection is also available for equipment left overnight at the auction.

Optional Cancellation Cover

If you are hosting an event, having appropriate cancellation cover can protect you if it becomes necessary to cancel or rearrange your event. This applies to policies bought no later than 14 days prior to the event.
