What does stallholder insurance cover?

For Stallholders you may well need to supply proof of your liability insurance to secure your selling spot. Our insurance for stallholders is designed to include necessary cover for public liability to protect you from injuries and incidents that could result in a claim.  You will find essential extras, such as event cancellation and equipment, can be added only if necessary, giving you a better price.

Whether you sell your products at fetes, festivals, community fun days or craft fairs we can adapt your cover for one-day or short-term events depending on what best suits your activity.

Make sure you have the correct insurance for your event and be sure to check if any exclusions are relevant to what you have planned in policy documentation.

Why do you need stallholder cover?

Attracting customers to your stall is likely a priority, so making every effort to wow them with a stall display could be all the difference. However sometimes things go wrong and your best efforts could lead to a claim for damage or injury to a member of the public.

Protectivity help protect you with the stallholder insurance you need when incidents happen, so you can focus on showcasing your products without worrying about costly financial repercussions. Here are some scenarios to demonstrate the importance of having appropriate stallholder cover in place.

Protect yourself from claims if a member of the public suffers an injury.

Events often attract large crowds, increasing the risk of accidents or injuries to members of the public.

Ensure you have public liability to protect you and your stall against these incidents such as trip and fall accidents, injuries caused by equipment or structures.

An unexpected incident causes the cancellation of an event.

Unpredictable circumstances such as adverse weather or irreparable damage to your venue could mean the event must be cancelled or postponed. To avoid losing income, add a safety net for your event as a stallholder and be prepared for the cancellation, abandonment, postponement or interruption of the event by adding cancellation cover.

Avoid financial loss from event equipment damage.

As a Stallholder, equipment is likely moved around at an event or from event to event and subsequently damages and losses are a regular risk.

With the right equipment cover you can make a clam to replace or repair equipment you’ve hired, leased, loaned, or own yourself.

A requirement of public liability by a venue.

An event venue may expect proof of public liability for you to sell at their events, as a minimum, if you are taking part as a stallholder.

Our experts explain why...

“Securing stallholder insurance is necessary investment when planning for unforeseen risks. Whether you’re taking part in a community fair or festival, unexpected incidents can jeopardise your financial well-being. Stallholder insurance provides a safety net, covering liabilities, cancellations, or property damage, offering peace of mind and allowing you to focus on creating memorable experiences rather than worrying about potential setbacks. It’s a wise investment that ensures you can focus on managing your stall.”
