Musicians Insurance
Why do you need Musicians Insurance?
Specialist musician insurance has been designed to protect musicians who are performing at one-off events and includes the vital cover that can help to avoid costly claims. For example, if a third party makes a claim against you for causing a physical injury or damage to their property, public liability will provide protection for these scenarios.
For large and small events there’s always a risk of accidental damage, loss and thefts when moving instruments and equipment between temporary events and in transit. We include event equipment cover from £2500 to up to £50,000 to help you avoid costly financial losses.
There are also circumstances that can unfold whereby an event must be cancelled for uncontrollable reasons. You can opt to include our event cancellation cover to protect you from deposits and other costs you incur prior to the event, loss of ticket sales and more.
If you are performing at a private venue, it is likely that they will expect proof of your public liability cover to offer your services.
Other additional benefits that can be added to your policy include Employers’ Liability cover, which is a legal requirement if you employ any staff or volunteers.

What does Musicians Insurance cover?
Public Liability
We can provide either £1m, £2m, £5m or £10m worth of public liability insurance for musicians for short term events. This will protect you should a member of the public suffer an injury or cause accidental damage to a third-party’s property and blame you as the event organiser for the incident. Our musician public liability insurance will meet the needs of your venue or local authority.
Employers' Liability
If you employ any staff or have a voluntary helper, Employers’ Liability is a legal requirement. This covers you for damages if a staff member suffers accidental injury or property damage whilst working with you.
Equipment Cover
for events
Our policy includes £2500 of equipment cover for free, with the option to increase your cover up to £50,000. This equipment insurance provides you with cover against accidental damage, loss or theft of equipment owned by you, or for which you are legally liable for (e.g. leased out or hired), whilst at, or in transit to, the event.
Event Cancellation Insurance (Optional)
In case the event you are performing at is cancelled for reasons beyond your control, having appropriate cancellation is vital protection, if it becomes necessary to cancel or rearrange the event. This only applies to policies bought more than 14 days before to the event.
