Insuring your football club
Protecting your club against liability claims is important, as costs can very quickly add up if your club is deemed liable. Protectivity offers two types of football club policy; one that provides comprehensive Public Liability and Professional Indemnity, and another Football Clubhouse Insurance policy that will also protect your buildings and contents.
Our standard liability insurance for football clubs provides cover for instances where third parties suffer injury or property damage as a result of your club’s actions.
This could range from a spectator tripping and falling on a damaged pathway to property being damaged to a misplaced shot.
With Employers’ Liability, the club will also be protected should a member of staff suffer an injury as a result of the club’s neglect.
To add further protection to your football club, our clubhouse policy can extend the above to cover material damage to your buildings and contents, business interruption in the event of lost revenue should the club suffer the loss of the ability to operate.

How are you covered
If a claim is brought against your club, and you have been deemed liable, we will cover solicitor’s costs to defend you. Should there be any damages to be paid, your insurance policy will also take care of paying them.
Claims against football clubs aren’t particularly common, but when they do occur, the costs can be significant.
Depending on which benefits you select during the quote process you can protect your club, its buildings and equipment and its revenue with our football club insurance policy.
Please note however, that we do have a player-to-player exclusion in our football club insurance. Contact between players is part and parcel of the game, so if one player were to injure another with a bad tackle, it wouldn’t be covered under this policy. This is a very standard exclusion in insurance policies for sports that involve contact as standard.
