What Insurance Do Fun Run Events Need?
If you are organising a fun run there are a number of things that you should consider adding to your policy.
Public Liability
Covering you for your legal costs and damages should a runner or member of the public suffer property damage or be injured, Public Liability is included in all our event policies. Claims could arrive because of a poorly marked course, unsafe spectator areas or other organisational negligence.
Equipment Cover
Although fun runs won’t obviously see the need for equipment cover, if you are likely to have spectator areas, the fences or platforms you may use should be covered. Our policies can protect you against damage and loss to that property that may occur before, during or after the race.
Employers' Liability
If you employ members of staff, such as stewards or volunteers, Employers’ Liability protects you if they were injured or suffered property damage and blamed you as the organiser. We’ll handle the legal costs to defend you and any necessary settlement.
Event Cancellation Cover
Cancellation, Abandonment & Postponement Insurance will cover you for your irrecoverable costs incurred as a result of the unavoidable cancellation, abandonment or postponement of the entire event for reasons beyond your control.
