Our wedding photographers insurance is also flexible, allowing you to tailor your policy with optional extras such as professional indemnity, equipment cover, personal accident protection, and legal expenses. No matter your style, documentary, editorial, traditional, or hybrid, or the scale of your business, you can build a policy that fits for you.

Why do wedding photographer’s need insurance?
As a wedding photographer, you’re responsible for capturing irreplaceable moments, from the ceremony to the speeches, first dance, and everything in between. But even with years of experience and meticulous preparation, weddings are fast-paced, unpredictable events. Things can and do go wrong.
Specialist wedding photographer insurance provides essential peace of mind. If a client brings a claim against you, or an accident happens during a shoot, insurance helps protect your reputation, your kit, your income, and your ability to keep working.
Wedding photographers rely on insurance for a wide range of scenarios, including:
A guest trips over your gear during the wedding day
At busy venues filled with guests, equipment like tripods, lighting stands, or camera bags can become trip hazards. If a guest is injured or property is damaged because of your setup, you could be held liable.
Public liability insurance protects you against the legal and financial consequences of these claims, so you’re not left covering costs on your own.
Your essential equipment is damaged or stolen.
Wedding photography depends heavily on high-value equipment. Cameras, lenses, memory cards, flashes, lighting, and backup gear are all essential and weddings often require moving between locations.
If your equipment is damaged, lost, or stolen at a venue, between shots, or while in transit, it can halt your work instantly.
Equipment cover helps you bounce back quickly by repairing or replacing essential items so you can continue shooting without disruption.
You’re unable to work due to an injury.
Wedding days are physically demanding such as long hours on your feet, lifting heavy gear, and navigating crowded or uneven venues. If an injury leaves you unable to work, your income could be affected.
Personal accident cover provides financial support while you recover, helping protect your livelihood during time off.
Venues ask for proof of liability insurance
Many wedding venues, from hotels and estates to barns and private properties, require photographers to show proof of public liability insurance before working on-site.
This ensures that if accidental injury or property damage occurs, appropriate protection is in place. Having the right cover helps you secure bookings and gives venues confidence in your professionalism.
Proof of liability cover
Many venues, studios, or client locations – especially for weddings, events, or commercial shoots – require photographers to show proof of liability insurance before allowing them to work on-site.
This is to ensure that if any accidental injury or property damage occurs during the shoot, there’s adequate protection in place. Having the right cover not only meets these requirements but also helps you secure more professional bookings with confidence.
Our experts explain why...
“Working as a wedding photographer means balancing creativity with logistics, managing equipment, navigating constantly changing environments, and working closely with couples and guests. Weddings are high-pressure, once-in-a-lifetime events, and with that comes a unique mix of challenges.
That’s why our wedding photographer insurance is designed with real-world situations in mind. Whether you’re a solo shooter or run a small team, our cover helps protect you from unexpected incidents like injury claims, equipment damage, or disputes over your work. We offer flexible options too, such as equipment cover and personal accident protection, so your policy can grow with your business.
Ultimately, we want photographers to feel supported and secure, so they can focus on their creativity – not the ‘what-ifs’. Our aim is to take care of the risks, so you can take care of the moments that matter.”
