Business Insurance for Art Therapists

Working as an art therapist probably makes you think that you are in one of the low risk professions in terms of legal claims and wrongdoing allegations. However, in today’s litigious society, the number of lawful proceedings for compensation is continuing to rise.

An accusation that a course of art therapy has not had the expected results, an accident at your premises or unintentionally disclosing a patient’s confidential information could have a serious impact on your business

Our specialist insurance for art therapists can be tailored to cover such situations and much more . This all-in-one policy includes a range of benefits as standard with up to £5 million Public Liability.

Professional malpractice – known as Professional Liability, also included in our policy, offers protection against the cost of defending your business against allegations of professional negligence (such as providing poor art therapy treatment to a client) and if unsuccessful, the cost of damages awarded against you.

What's included in your Art Therapy Insurance policy?

Our Insurance policies include the following benefits as standard:

Professional Liability

Working closely with people who create different types of artwork – paintings, drawings or sculpturing as part of their art therapy treatment puts you at risk of claims relating to physical injury or psychological damage. Our £1 to £5 million Professional Liability insurance will protect you against those risks.

Professional Indemnity

As with all psychotherapeutic treatments, any advice given to patients to follow at home, which has a negative impact on their well-being, could potentially result in negligence claims. This cover is designed to protect you if a customer alleges that you provided faulty or inadequate advice and services.

Public Liability

Having a Public Liability cover will ensure you are protected in the case of injury or damage to a third party or their property. You can choose £1 million, £2 million or £5 million worth of Public Liability to add to your policy. If you are sued for negligence your defence costs and any associated settlement would be taken care of.

Optional Equipment Cover

All our art therapy policies can include up to £5,000 worth of equipment cover, protecting you against damage, loss and theft of the tools and supplies that you rely on. Simply select the level of cover and it will be added to your policy.

Personal Accident Cover

Whether you work from your own practice or visit your clients at another location, you are always at risk of slips, trips or other mishaps. By including Personal Accident cover, you will be protected if you suffer a serious injury whilst carrying out your art therapy activities as well as any other therapies you are insured to undertake.

Monthly Payment Plans

We offer flexible payment plans with 0% APR when purchasing your cover online. We ask for a 20% deposit today, followed by 10 monthly instalments. This means that from as little as £3.65 a month you will be able to protect your art therapy business and have a peace of mind for a whole year.
