The Public Liability element of the policy will cover you should you accidently injure a client or member of the public, or damage their property, during a treatment and they take legal action against you.
The Professional Indemnity section of the policy will cover you should a client or member of the public make a compensation claim against you for your professional advice, such as post-treatment care.

What's included in your Play Therapy Insurance policy?
Our Insurance policies include the following benefits as standard:
Public Liability
Up to £5 million worth of Public Liability is included to cover you if, while performing your chosen activity, cause accidental injury to a client or other member of the public, or damage a third-party’s property.
Optional Equipment Cover
In the event that you suffer accidental damage to some of your business property or are the victim of theft, you could be covered for up to £3,000. Just choose to include Equipment Cover on your quote.
Professional Indemnity
Professional Indemnity is also included as standard, meaning you will be protected for any advice that you give in a professional capacity should a client sue.
Employers' Liability
If you employ any members of staff it is your legal responsibility to take out Employers’ Liability. This will cover you for £10 million should a staff member sustain bodily injury, illness, disease or medically recognised psychiatric injury while working under your employment.
Personal Accident
Accidents at work can cause financial hardship, so by taking out our additional Personal Accident cover, you’re protected if an injury meant you were unable to work for a significant period of time. This includes loss of income as well as a range of other injuries.
Third Party Property Damage
This covers you against any non-negligent loss or damage to the property of others that you may cause during the period of providing treatments.

Q. What does Play Therapy Insurance include and how will protect me?
A. Our Play Therapy Insurance product includes the following:
Public Liability will cover you for accidental injury or damage to a member of the public or their property caused by, or arising from, any treatment or therapy that you give during your business activities.
Professional Indemnity which will cover you for injury or damage caused by or arising from any tuition, verbal instruction or advice given by or on behalf of the Insured in respect of the activities contained within your business description.
The policy also offers Equipment Cover as an optional extra. This section of the policy will cover the cost of replacing your equipment because you accidentally damage or lose it.
Q. How quickly will my documents come?
A. We will issue your insurance certificate immediately after you have paid for your insurance. They will be emailed to you instantly. Should you wish to have your documents sent to you by post, we are happy to offer this service but at a charge. Please call a member of our team to discuss this further on 01494 887909.
Q. Who underwrites your insurance?
A. Our Therapist Insurance policy is underwritten by Peach Pi.
Q. Do you cover students?
A. No, our Therapist Insurance policy will only protect those who qualified in their chosen treatments. The qualification must be obtained by an accredited awarding body.
Q. Do you need to see my qualification certificates?
A. No. You will only need to produce your qualification certificate(s) in the event of a claim. When you purchase your insurance we will ask you to declare that you have a suitable qualification for the activity that you require cover for.
