What Insurance Do Swimming Events Need?
If you are organising a cycling race or ride there are a number of things that you should consider adding to your policy.
A standard feature in all of our policies, Public Liability covers injury claims from members of the public, be it competitors or spectators. If you are sued, your policy will take care of solicitors and defence costs, plus handle the settlement of any claim if you are found to be negligent. The section of the policy also covers property damage that is deemed to be your fault.
Many events will employ staff, sometimes on a voluntary basis, others will be paid. Either way, it is your legal responsibility to ensure you have Employers’ Liability in place. This will cover you if a member of staff was injured whilst working on your event. Like Public Liability cover, we’d handle the defence costs and the settlement of the claim.
Being in open water, there may not be a large amount of equipment used for your event. But with sports equipment cover in place, your insurance can cover the costs to replace or repair any equipment that is damaged during the event.
Additional Options Available
We appreciate that some events need a bit of time to set-up and prepare. That’s why we are able to extend your coverage to provide Public Liability cover for the period immediately before the event or for a period of time following the conclusion of the event.
I was really pleased with how my claim was settled. It gave me great confidence that Protectivity covers me when the worst happens.
