Events take place in all cultures, all over the globe and for lots of different reasons. Religion, music, sport, food – all these and more have inspired festivals and events new and old.

However, the pandemic put all major cultural events and festivals on hold throughout 2020. From Wimbledon to St. Patrick’s Day parades, all major event gatherings had to be postponed, downscaled or cancelled altogether. 

But as we now move towards a post-pandemic world, these events matter more than ever. That’s why we’ve taken a look at over 130 worldwide annual events, from some of the biggest sporting events in the world such as the Superbowl to cultural events like Diwali, and used Google search volume to reveal which ones are most searched for around the world.
